Do you see me? Celebrating Learning Disability Week 2025

The theme of Learning Disability Week is 'Do you see me?' which is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued.
We've curated a selection of videos from our archive to raise awareness and challenge the barriers people with a learning disability face, and celebrate the things that people with a learning disability bring to society.
Music video: 24 years worth living
We created this original music video for North East & Cumbria Learning Disability Network to highlight that people with learning disabilities die on average 24 years sooner than that of the general population, often from avoidable causes.
People with a learning disability continue to face serious health inequalities. Our films and music videos aim to educate and inform, provoke thought and stimulate change.
Spotlight on The Twisting Ducks: Inspiring Stories and Inclusive Theatre
At The Twisting Ducks, our mission is to tackle inequalities and create opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autistic people through performing arts.
Because our stories matter.
Our voices deserve to be heard.
And our creativity belongs centre stage.
In this short film, discover the powerful impact of our performance programme — and hear directly from our partner theatres— Newcastle Theatre Royal, The Customs House, Arts Centre Washington, and Northern Stage — as they share their thoughts on why The Twisting Ducks is such a valued part of their programmes and communities.
